Slayer was formed in 1981 by Jeff Hanneman and Kerry King. The band rose to fame as a leader of the American thrash metal movement with their 1986 release Reign in Blood, which has been called "the heaviest album of all time". The band is credited as one of the "Big Four" thrash metal bands, along with Anthrax, Megadeth, and Metallica. Slayer co-headlined with Marilyn Manson on the Rape of the World 2007 tour and the The High End of Low 2009 Rockstar Mayhem Fest tour.
