Tyler Bates is a Los Angeles born artist, composer, guitarist and music producer whose musical influences span from John Coltrane to Chopin, currently working in the field of musical composition for film and television. Bates' earlier musical interests saw him co-found one of LA's most popular indie-alternative bands, Pet, and touring with Blink 182, Limp Bizkit, Helmet and Luscious Jackson.[1]

Focusing solely on scoring movies since late 1997, Bates' work to date includes Rob Zombie's Halloween, Halloween II, The Devil's Rejects, Zack Snyder's Dawn of the Dead, 300, Watchmen, and Sucker Punch; Neil Marshall's Doomsday, See No Evil and James Gunn's Slither and Guardians of the Galaxy. In 2011 he scored Emilio Estevez's The Way, William Friedkin's Killer Joe, Marcus Nispel's Conan the Barbarian, Chris Gorak's The Darkest Hour, James Gunn's Super, and more recently collaboration with Marilyn Manson in the creation of the song Cupid Carries a Gun which featured in the opening credits of WGN's Salem and is set to appear on Marilyn Manson's ninth studio album.
