In a recent interview with former Marilyn Manson guitarist, John 5, 5 spoke briefly about his time with Manson describing him as "a genius" and describes the atmosphere of the unreleased instrumental album, known as "The Factory" stating It’s all instrumental, Me and Manson wrote it together, it’s just really cool symphonic creepy music, it’s amazing. When asked if he would consider rejoining Manson, 5 stated that he would consider it if "Rob Zombie wanted to quit music and say that he didn’t wanna do this anymore." • Get Your Gunn labeled one of the most controversial songs of all time

Digital Spy has announced that 1994's Get Your Gunn is one of the top ten most controversial songs of all time, coming in at number 8. "The title is spelled with two n's because the song was a reaction to the murder of Dr. David Gunn, who was killed in Florida by pro-life activists while I was living there. That was the ultimate hypocrisy I witnessed growing up: that these people killed someone in the name of being "pro-life." - Marilyn Manson

• November 8, 2010. Blabbermouth.net & ABC News Marilyn Manson has signed with Cooking Vinyl Records to release his eighth studio album. The album will be issued via Manson's own label, Hell, etc. Manson had this to say: "We will always be our worst audience, until we stop being an audience and start being an artist. Any art is flesh and blood, no matter how you perform, decorate or display it. But we all want the passionate horror of that blood. And blood is what I am here to bring."

Manson's manager, Tony Ciulla told abc News "the 50-50 joint venture is a "more attractive financial arrangement and allows for greater (creative) control," with both parties sharing profits after Cooking Vinyl recoups its costs, which include an advance paid out to Manson and a "big marketing commitment."  Goldschmidt says he and Ciulla will link up with partners for promotion, marketing and distribution. Goldschmidt's initial global sales target for the album is 500,000 units"

• October 16, 2010After his triumphant return to magic earlier this year with his show Magic VS Science at the world famous Magic Castle in Hollywood, California. “The Coolest Magician on Earth,” is now set to take things to the next level with his scheduled performance at the El Rey Theatre October 23rd. • October 14, 2010 Marilyn Manson will be kicking off Halloween weekend as he hosts the Halloween Party at Haze Nightclub in Las Vegas, October 30th.   September 13, 2010 Leo Luganskiy, who played the role of a young Manson for an episode of Celebrity Ghost Stories, declared through his MySpace blog that Manson's episode will air when the third season premieres on The Biography Channel, October 30, 2010.

• October 16th, 2010 According to SpikeTV's press release which can be read here Marilyn Manson is set to appear at 2010's Scream Awards. The 2010 Scream Awards will air on the SPIKE network Tuesday, October 19 at 9pm EST.

• September 27, 2010 Noisecreep.com reports that Alternate Press will continue to celebrate their 25th anniversary with a second art exhibition which will feature the work of Marilyn Manson and other artists, at Sloan Fine Art in New York City from October 21 to October 23. Discussion here

• While unconfirmed by inside sources, Contactmusic News has reported that production on Manson's directorial debut, Phantasmagoria: The Visions of Lewis Carroll has been put on "indefinite hold," following a backlash of protest against a trailer which leaked earlier this year. Contact Music cites an unnamed source with the following: "The trailer caused such a backlash that a decision was made to close down the project." • On July 24, 2010, Fred Sablan, best known for his work in Goon Moon, was declared the latest member of Marilyn Manson through the band's MySpace and Facebook outlets. Sablan has allegedly been performing stringed instruments on the group's upcoming eighth studio album.

• On July 22, 2010, a photograph of Marilyn Manson and Evan Rachel Wood taken by musician John Mayer was posted online.

• On July 23, 2010, Manson appeared on the Biography Channel program Celebrity Ghost Stories, recounting an experience while visiting his great-grandparents' home in his youth (video footage and transcript here).

• Marilyn Manson is scheduled to display an unknown amount of artwork for an upcoming art installation alongside infamous director David Lynch at Kunsthalle Wien titled, Genealogies of Pain. • The winning Billboard campaign features portraits of famous musicians created out of small, pixel-like images of other musicians who had influenced them. For example, this Marilyn Manson portrait was composed of tiny images of KISS, Ozzy Osbourne, the Cure and Cher. The tagline: "Music. See what it's made of."

• On May 28, 2010 Marilyn Manson and Evan Rachel Wood appeared on the set of the new series "Mildred Pierce" in New York City.

• MTV.com has reported that Manson will be the lead singer of a death metal band in the film Splatter Sisters, which is set to begin filming this winter, after Manson finishes touring.

• According to the LA Times, Marilyn Manson's artwork, amongst that of other celebrities, will be on display at the Merry Karnowsky Gallery to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Alternative Press Magazine. The VIP event is scheduled for July 9th, and opening the public following night.

• Marilyn Manson & his fiancee, Evan Rachel Wood are set to star in the upcoming slasher film. This film, is the first in a planned franchise, and is described as a sexploitation-serial-killer-slasher-road-movie circa 1989. Manson's involvement with the film was previously alluded to via a MySpace photo in which Manson stated, "after my shoot with Adam Lough (the Carter). Inspirational work for his film, The Splatter Sisters."

• On April 27, 2010, Marilyn Manson composed a MySpace blog titled "The public consumption of material," in which he speaks out against the leak of the Phantasmagoria: The Visions of Lewis Carroll trailer, demanding that the source of the leak, Revel Studios, make a public apology within 12 hours.

• On April 19th, 2010 Rudy Coby announced that Marilyn Manson will play the evil magician in the promotional material of his MAGIC VS. SCIENCE new show.

• On April 8th, 2010 Marilyn Manson conducted an interview with Playboy MX discussing his upcoming art exhibit Hell, Etc., the creation process, and an offer by Angelina Jolie to be painted nude.

• March 28th, 2010, Marilyn Manson guest-starred on Adult Swim's Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job! in an episode called "Crows" as the 'Darkman'. Earlier, while on tour in Japan, Manson had uploaded a picture of himself dressed as Darkman for the show to MySpace.

• March 10th, 2010, Marilyn Manson's song "EAT ME, DRINK ME" was listed on Spinner.com's "Best 'Alice in Wonderland' Musical Moments".

February 2010[edit]

• On February 23rd, 2010, ArtModernGallery.com announced that April 21st through the 25th 2010, Athens, Greece will be hosting an exhibit of Marilyn Manson paintings. Tentatively titled Hell, Etc.

• On February 23rd, 2010, Band member Chris Vrenna turned 43, Happy Birthday from everyone at MansonWiki!

• On February 14th, 2010, MarilynManson.com was updated with this message : "On this, the Day of Souls, the celebrations of death end with an offering. Only by prayer and by sacrifices of the masses may the dead be cleansed from sin and attain the Beatific cally acclaimed music video..."

This was found at 7pm GMT and has since been removed.
