Portrait Release Party is a live bootleg by Marilyn Manson, recorded on June 18, 1994 at the Peaches-Plantation in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. It contains a recording of the record release party for Marilyn Manson's debut album Portrait of an American Family, and also band's first official acoustic show. It also features the band's first performances of any of the six songs played that night, eight months before the official release of "Down in the Park" on the band's CD single of "Lunchbox", and 16 months before the official release of "Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This)" and "I Put a Spell on You" on the band's 1995 EP Smells Like Children.

It also features one extra track, a live cover of the Beatles' popular "Helter Skelter", performed at the Malibu Beach Club in Long Island on March 2, 1995.

Trivia

  • This bootleg is the only source available where any of tracks 1 to 6 can be heard. The performance is unique in that it was the only acoustic performance of any of the six songs, it is the only time the band has performed "Mirror People" and "I Got You" live, the only time "Come Together" has been performed live in its entirety, and the only time "Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This)" has been performed so closely to the original version by the Eurythmics. It was also the first time any of the six songs were ever performed live.
