Lest We Forget – The Best Of is a best of album by Marilyn Manson, released on September 28, 2004 by Interscope Records. A new song was recorded to promote the album, a cover of Depeche Mode's "Personal Jesus". The inside booklet contains previous photo-shoots and several new pictures hinting at Manson's next era and musical/lyric direction, At the time of release Manson had been quoted as having called Lest We Forget the band's "farewell album". However, assured the public that it would "not be the last Marilyn Manson album." This album marks highlights from the band's catalogue from 1994-2003. In several interviews following Lest We Forget, Manson hinted that he no longer wished to produce music around this time, and thus marks the beginning of Manson's venture into other projects, such as Phantasmagoria. Lest We Forget was followed by the band's sixth studio album, Eat Me, Drink Me, released on June 5, 2007.
The now out of print deluxe edition includes a bonus DVD containing most of the band's music videos, excluding "Astonishing Panorama of the Endtimes", "Tainted Love" and "(s)AINT".

DVD easter eggs
- The "Autopsy" which was originally an easter egg on the Holy Wood CD but has since gone offline, can be found by highlighting "Photo Gallery", and press left. This should highlight a box with the text "AUTOPSY" inside.
- The 'Making of the "mOBSCENE"' video, previously only available on select versions of the "mOBSCENE" and "This Is the New Shit" singles can be found by browsing the GAOG videos, highlighting "Next Album", and pressing right.
- The performance version of the "Disposable Teens" video, which was shown on most television channels pre-watershed, because of the "disturbing" content in the original version can be found by viewing the Holywood videos menu, highlighting "The Fight Song", and pressing left and then select.
- Alternate Menu Screens can also be accessed by browsing through different album era's video catalogs and exiting back to the menu screen. Exiting via the "Holywood" or the "Antichrist Superstar" index gives you a Holywood theme, "Mechanical Animals" and "Golden Age of Grotesque" gives you a GAOG theme, while "EPs, etc" or "Portrait Of An American Family" grants you the default "Lest We Forget" theme. Curiously, selecting "Special Features" with the "Holywood" theme has the same function as selecting "Play All".
(s)AINT bonus DVD
Consumers who ordered either the CD/DVD version or just the standard CD edition of Lest We Forget – The Best Of from Marilyn Manson's official website also received a bonus DVD featuring the "uncut, unrated, and banned by the label," unreleased video for "(s)AINT". The music video was produced over two days in a Los Angeles hotel room and directed by Asia Argento. While presented as an exclusive the "(s)AINT" video was also available on some editions of Lest We Forget – The Best Of distributed overseas and still is on all R-rated versions in Australia.
