The song attracted attention due to the liner notes of Antichrist Superstar, which state that [Irresponsible Hate Anthem was recorded live on <a href="Significance of Valentine's Day to Marilyn Manson">February 14</a>, 1997], despite the fact that the album was released on October 8, 1996 and is a studio recording.

As the album is cyclical, with both opening and closing seconds including the distorted phrase "When you are suffering, know that I have betrayed you," when the album is placed on loop, the pacing between these sentences on "Irresponsible Hate Anthem" matches that of the additional distorted recitation found in the preceding, <a href="Track 99">ninety-ninth track</a>. "Irresponsible Hate Anthem" also contains an additional opening chant, "And all the children sing: 'We hate love, we love hate.'"
