"Irresponsible Hate Anthem" is the first track on the 1996 release Antichrist Superstar. The song attracted attention due to the liner notes of Antichrist Superstar, which state that [Irresponsible Hate Anthem was recorded live on February 14, 1997], despite the fact that the album was released on October 8, 1996 and is a studio recording.
As the album is cyclical, with both opening and closing seconds including the distorted phrase "When you are suffering, know that I have betrayed you," when the album is placed on loop, the pacing between these sentences on "Irresponsible Hate Anthem" matches that of the additional distorted recitation found in the preceding, ninety-ninth track. "Irresponsible Hate Anthem" also contains an additional opening chant, "And all the children sing: 'We hate love, we love hate.'"
