Controversy

A month before the engagement, the show attracted media attention when managers of the state-owned New Jersey Meadowlands tried to prevent Marilyn Manson from performing at the venue by refusing to sell tickets as long as he remains on the roster. They also complained about supposed issues such as crowd control problems at a Marilyn Manson concert and "community standards of decency". Ozzy Osbourne successfully took legal action against the venue, prompting the judge to lecture the defendants on the First Amendment. Marilyn Manson performed without incident.
