About

The performance on July 18th, 1994 took place at Peaches in Plantation, Florida, USA. It was publicized as the record release party for Marilyn Manson's debut album Portrait of an American Family, and also the band's first official acoustic show. It featured the band's first performances of any of the six songs played that night, eight months before the official release of "Down in the Park" on the band's CD single of "Lunchbox", and 16 months before the official release of "Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This)" and "I Put a Spell on You" on the band's 1995 EP Smells Like Children.

  6. "I Put a Spell on You"

Trivia

  • This performance is unique in that it was the only acoustic performance of any of the six songs, it is the only time the band has performed "Mirror People" and "I Got You" live, the only time "Come Together" has been performed live in its entirety, and the only time "Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This)" has been performed so closely to the original version by the Eurythmics. It was also the first time any of the six songs were ever performed live.
  • Most sources state that this show was performed on June 29th, 1994, or sometimes June 18th, 1994. However, there seems to be no proof that this was in fact the case, while the poster for the July 18th show clearly states a 'release party' for Portrait of an American Family, including an acoustic setlist. This coincides with the alleged June 29th recordings, that contain six acoustic tracks (listed above).
