Sample Pages:Category Hierarchies

From MansonWiki, the Marilyn Manson encyclopedia
Jump to: navigation, search

Categories are created by typing Category:Name of category between two square brackets and are placed at the very end of all articles and more. If it's necessary to make a new one, it will appear as a broken link after you save the page. Clicking on it, will take you to a new category page. Entering a note about what the category is for and saving the page will cause the previously broken link to become valid.

In the interest of making Manson Wiki as uniform as possible we are asking they be created with the following hierarchies.

The consensus is only the first word after Category should be capped unless it is a title. At the moment the Category list shows both ways but this is being worked on.

Band member names waiver between stage and real names depending on their stated desire. Band members should be listed in the order of Marilyn Manson, lead guitarist, bassist, keyboardist if one, then drummer.

[[Category:Marilyn Manson]] [[Category:Twiggy]] [[Category:Scott Putesky]] [[Category:Stephen Bier]]

Recent changes[edit]

  • The consensus is the Spooky Kids era was from the beginning (1989) though July 31, 1992 when the Spooky Kids moniker was dropped for just Marilyn Manson. For articles/tours, etc., use the [[Category:1989-1995 era]] category until the Dead to the World tour. This leaves a question of what should be used for the 1996 dates performed in the Smells Like Children Tour. At the moment they only say Tour dates.
