  • ContactMusic.com confirmed that Manson and former keyboardist Bier had reportedly settled out of court on December 11, 2009, prompting Manson to release two statements on the band's MySpace profile that month.

Interscope/nothing to offer- records did not drop Marilyn Manson. When the "do I have to suck your mentally retarded dick for money?" clause ran out. And I was able to choose to be with whatever company, if any, had the brain big enough to understand what I do... I said that I would prefer to not be ass-raped by idiots from this time forward.   • On June 11, 2009, a remix of the Lady Gaga single "LoveGame" by Chew Fu was made available for streaming on Perez Hilton's blog. The remix features guest vocals by Marilyn Manson, although it is uncertain if this is the Lady Gaga song Rolling Stone previously purported was remixed by Manson.
  • On June 5, 2009, it was confirmed that Marilyn Manson is now dating pornographic actress and model Stoya.
  • On June 3, 2009, Billboard.com declared that Marilyn Manson's latest studio album, The High End of Low, (pictured) debuted at number four on the Billboard 200, with 49,000 copies sold. On this date, Marilyn Manson also embarked on their latest tour, and it was at this first performance that Andy Gerold was revealed to be the identity of the band's latest live bassist.
  • On June 1, 2009, original Marilyn Manson guitarist Scott Putesky, better known by the pseudonym Daisy Berkowitz, reported that he plans to reform The Spooky Kids to record a studio album featuring Marilyn Manson & the Spooky Kids' signature songs, before embarking on a tour. The forthcoming record will be distributed by Alien Music and Radiculture Records and will be dedicated to the memory of Gidget Gein.

  • In the June 2009 issue of Rolling Stone, it was revealed that Manson has recently remixed pop musician Lady Gaga's latest single, "Paparazzi", while in turn Gaga has remixed Marilyn Manson's forthcoming single, which has yet to be revealed.
  • On May 30, the unedited version of "Blank and White" from The High End of Low was made available for streaming on Marilyn Manson's MySpace profile, confirming rumors that the censored lyric in the song is "or the President of whatever."
  • On May 23, 2009, The Nachtkabarett's forums, Babalon, were revised as the official Marilyn Manson message board.
  • On May 20, 2009, Marilyn Manson's seventh studio album, The High End of Low, (pictured) was officially released, when it began to stock in Japan. The album surfaced in several countries the following week, before culminating with a worldwide release date of May 26, 2009.
  • On May 19, 2009, The High End of Low was leaked to the Internet, only hours short of its Japanese release.
  • On May 14, 2009, the music video for the single "Arma-goddamn-motherfuckin-geddon" debuted on NME.com.
  • On May 13, 2009, the song "Pretty as a Swastika" was leaked to the Internet.
  • On May 7, 2009, an official minisite for The High End of Low went online. Along with a new promotional photo, the site provides partial lyrics to "Arma-goddamn-motherfuckin-geddon", links to pre-order both the album and the "Arma-goddamn-motherfuckin-geddon" CD single, a mailing list and a Facebook application that features partial lyrics and samples of the former, as well as "Devour" and "We're from America". On this date, another High End of Low bonus track was revealed: an alternate version of "Pretty as a Swastika", which will feature on album pressings shipped to independent record stores.
  • On May 5, 2009, both the standard and deluxe digital versions of The High End of Low were made available for pre-order on the iTunes Store, both of which also contain "Fifteen", an exclusive alternate version of "15".

  • On March 31, 2009, early mixes of "Leave a Scar" (then titled "maybeharmfulifswallowed") and "Into the Fire" from The High End of Low were leaked to the Internet.
  • On March 28, 2009, an early mix of "Four Rusted Horses" from The High End of Low was leaked to the Internet.
  • On March 27, 2009, "We're from America" was made available for free download on MarilynManson.com, which was also revised. On this date, Metal Hammer also released a blog describing two songs from The High End of Low, "Arma-goddamn-motherfuckin-geddon" and the previously unverified track "The Wow" (actually titled "WOW").
  • On March 25, 2009, early mixes of "Arma-goddamn-motherfuckin-geddon" and "WOW" (then titled "Armagoddamnmotherfuckingeddon" and "The WOW", respectively) from The High End of Low were leaked to the Internet.
  • On March 23, 2009, a press release by Interscope Records confirmed that "We're from America" would be released for download on the band's website, before being reissued as a digital single on April 7. The report also stated that the first physical single from the album will be "Armageddon", which will enter airplay rotation on April 13.
  • On March 18, 2009, Kerrang! reported that The High End of Low will contain a total of 15 songs. The inclusion of "We're from America" on The High End of Low was also confirmed on this date.
  • On March 10, 2009, Metal Hammer announced that The High End of Low will be released in the United Kingdom on May 18, 2009. The article also states that a single from the album, "Armageddon", will be released on May 11. On this date, producer Sean Beavan also confirmed two new tracks from the album, "15" and "Four Rusted Horses".
  • On March 5, 2009, it was confirmed that Marilyn Manson will be performing for HELLFEST in France.

  • On January 30, 2009, it was confirmed that Marilyn Manson will be performing at Rock Am Ring and Rock Im Park in Germany.
  • On January 29, 2009, it was confirmed that Marilyn Manson will be performing at the Metaltown Festival in Sweden.

  • On October 24, 2008, a trailer released for the upcoming film Underworld: Rise of the Lycans featured "If I Was Your Vampire".
  • On October 23, 2008, Marilyn Manson and Evan Rachel Wood ended their nearly two-year relationship.
  • On October 19, 2008, Marilyn Manson and Twiggy Ramirez announced at the 2008 Scream Awards' after party that the band's upcoming album will "sound much like Antichrist Superstar" and that the recording sessions are "pretty much done".
  • On October 9, 2008, former Marilyn Manson bassist Bradley Stewart, better known as Gidget Gein, was found dead from a drug overdose in his Burbank home, at the age of 39.
  • On October 3, 2008, The Hierophant reported that Marilyn Manson will be hosting a Halloween party at the Roosevelt Hotel in Hollywood, California on October 31, 2008.

  • On September 23, 2008, Wes Borland announced in a MySpace blog that Marilyn Manson will be making a performance on October 5, 2008. In a later comment of the same page blog, Borland himself confirmed the band is currently interested in performing only one-off shows, and that he will be the band's live guitarist during these one-offs.
  • On September 3, 2008, a video of Marilyn Manson keyboardist Chris Vrenna was posted on maniaTV, in which Vrenna speaks briefly of the band's upcoming seventh studio album.

  • On August 25, 2008, live guitarist Wes Borland was featured in an interview with Headbanger's Blog, discussing his new collaboration with Marilyn Manson.
  • On August 14, 2008, Marilyn Manson revealed at the ETP festival in Korea, that Wes Borland, perhaps best known as the former guitarist of Limp Bizkit, had joined Marilyn Manson as the band's live guitarist.

  • On July 24, 2008, Marilyn Manson's official website announced Manson's new online art store, MarilynMansonArtworkOnline, where authentic paintings can be purchased as well as lithographs, limited edition prints and, in the future, drawings and posters.
  • On July 12, 2008, a trailer released for the upcoming film Max Payne featured "If I Was Your Vampire".
  • On July 10, 2008, Marilyn Manson confirmed through the band's official website their performance at the ETP festival in Seoul, Korea.

  • On June 7, 2008, it was announced that Marilyn Manson would feature in the "Finger in Fame" exhibition by Drkrm, showcasing the fine art music photography of Travis Shinn. Other artists featured among the exhibition include Ozzy Osbourne, Korn, System of a Down and the Misfits.

  • On May 23, 2008, an interview with Manson conducted by Kerrang! revealed that the band's upcoming album is planned for a release during winter 2008.

March 2008

  • On March 23, 2008, a new banner was uploaded to the band's official MySpace profile. The banner shows a spectral analysis of an audio track, possibly on a computer screen, implying the band is indeed in the studio recording their upcoming album. In addition to this, the track "The Fall of Adam" was added to the site's music player, possibly implying that the Celebritarian theme might play a role in the new album.
  • On March 16, 2008, a fan started a petition to release Dead to the World, currently only available in VHS format, on DVD. When enough signatures are collected the petition will be sent to Interscope Records. The petition can be signed here.
  • On March 15, 2008, Goon Moon's official MySpace profile stated in a news blog that "Jeordie is working on a new Marilyn Manson album."
  • On January 15, 2008, an interview with Marilyn Manson was posted on The Star Online, in which Manson speaks again about his departure with Tim Skold and the return of bassist Twiggy Ramirez. In the article it is mentioned that Manson and his girlfriend Evan Rachel Wood got married, but it is assumed by many this is just a mistake by the interviewer.

  • On January 11, 2008, a new interview with Marilyn Manson entitled "Everyone Will Suffer Now" was conducted by the Heirophant. The 11-page interview (with a second part to follow) reveals details about the reunion with Twiggy Ramirez, the incorporation of old songs such as "Little Horn" and "Apple of Sodom" into the setlist and the creation of a new album.
  • On January 9, 2008, it was announced that former bassist Twiggy Ramirez has returned (picture at right) to play onstage with Marilyn Manson, replacing Tim Skold in the line-up for the Winter North American leg of the Rape of the World tour. Ramirez will be playing bass guitar, while current bass player Rob Holliday will take over the guitar from Skold. Allegedly Skold and Manson have split up as friends, but are not ruling out any future collaborations.
  • On January 5, 2008, Marilyn Manson turned 39 years old.

  • On December 20, 2007, Marilyn Manson countersued ex-keyboardist Madonna Wayne Gacy. As a reaction to the lawsuit Gacy filed against Manson in August of this year, Manson claims, "keyboardist Stephen Bier did not carry out obligations to take part in master recordings, concerts and the selling of band merchandise," according to this report which states that Manson is seeking unspecified general and special damages.
  • On December 14, 2007 in a telephone interview held with the Mexican music show Calibre 45, Manson announced his work on an autobiography, his second. Initial speculation about this being the postponed novel Holy Wood appear untrue, as Manson stated he has been gathering notes and diaries for the sequel to his 1998 autobiography The Long Hard Road Out of Hell.
  • On December 7, 2007, 24 new tour dates were announced for the Winter North American tour leg of the Rape of the World tour. This will be the band's second tour leg in North America, spanning from January 19, 2008, until February 25, 2008.

  • On October 26, 2007, the "Putting Holes in Happiness" CD single was released, featuring a remix of the track by Yeah Yeah Yeahs guitarist Nick Zinner. The remix can also be heard on the recently released soundtrack to the 2007 video game Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock.

  • On September 14, 2007, 28 new Marilyn Manson Paintings were unveiled. The pieces will be exhibited in Brazil, on the Les Fleurs du Mal exhibition. The new paintings can be seen here.

  • On August 23, 2007, the video for Marilyn Manson's upcoming single "Putting Holes in Happiness" was premiered on Yahoo.com. The video can be seen here.
  • On August 22, 2007, several online stores commenced sales of Marilyn Manson's signature brand absinthe, Mansinthe. Information on where it can be purchased can be found on Mansinthe.com.
  • On August 7, 2007, several new European tour dates were announced. Marilyn Manson will play several shows throughout November and December, amongst which the band will attend Belgium, Germany, the Netherlands, Portugal and the United Kingdom. More detailed information can be found here.
  • On August 7, 2007, the release date for the next single "Putting Holes in Happiness" was announced. On Billboard.com the release is planned for September 3, 2007. The single will be released in Germany on September 7.
  • On August 2, 2007, former keyboardist Madonna Wayne Gacy filed a lawsuit against Marilyn Manson, allegedly claiming Manson has been using the band's profits to fund his collection of Nazi paraphernalia, his drug addictions, his wedding with ex-wife Dita Von Teese, and the production of Phantasmagoria: The Visions of Lewis Carroll, amongst other accusations which can be read on MTV.com. According to the lawsuit, Gacy asked to be refunded $20 million in payment. Manson stated he will defend himself against these allegations.

  • On July 5, 2007, Marilyn Manson announced that his signature brand of absinthe, Mansinthe, would have its first shipment on August 7, 2007. Potential buyers beware of the purchase and consumption laws of absinthe in your respective country.
  • On July 1, 2007, Marilyn Manson joined Alice Cooper onstage at the B'estival in Bucharest, Romania, to perform Cooper's "Eighteen". During Manson's set later that evening, Cooper joined Marilyn Manson onstage to perform "Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This)".

  • On June 28, 2007, Marilyn Manson opened his art gallery in Cologne. Thirty-three of his paintings were exhibited, with prices ranging from $1,000 up to $55,000.
  • On June 13, 2007, Eat Me, Drink Me debuted at No. 8 in the United States where over 88,000 copies of the band's latest album have been sold. Other top-ten notations were in Austria (No. 2), Germany and France (No. 5), Japan and Italy (No. 7), the United Kingdom, Australia, and Sweden (No. 8, 9 and 10 respectively).
  • On June 5, 2007, Eat Me, Drink Me was released worldwide. Also, it was on this day that the band performed "EAT ME, DRINK ME" for the first time, live. The band played the song properly closing their set at the Palais Omnisport in Bercy, France.

  • On May 26, 2007, four new songs from the then-upcoming album Eat Me, Drink Me debuted live in Landgraaf, Netherlands: "If I Was Your Vampire", "You and Me and the Devil Makes 3", "Putting Holes in Happiness", and "Just a Car Crash Away".
  • On May 23, 2007, Marilyn Manson and Tim Skold appeared on UK radio station Radio 1 to discuss Eat Me, Drink Me, and performed two acoustic songs; one a rendition of "Heart-Shaped Glasses (When the Heart Guides the Hand)" and the other a Justin Timberlake cover titled "What Goes Around... Comes Around".
  • On May 22, 2007, an official Eat Me, Drink Me mini-site was discovered through a link found in the Europe "Heart-Shaped Glasses (When the Heart Guides the Hand)" single. The site contains lyrics, an art gallery, a mosaic, and the ability to stream up to two tracks per day starting on May 28, 2007. Upon completion of the mosaic, an Eat Me, Drink Me wallpaper becomes available for download, and three preview tracks ("Heart-Shaped Glasses (When the Heart Guides the Hand)", "If I Was Your Vampire", and "Evidence") become available for streaming.
  • On May 18, 2007, the official booklet of Eat Me, Drink Me was posted on Marilyn Manson's official website in its entirety.
