"Negative 3" is the first track on the 1991 release After School Special, and is the fifth track off the Marilyn Manson and the Spooky Kids compilation album “Lunch Boxes & Choklit Cows”, where it was remastered and mixed properly. The songs lyrics reflect a toxic relationship, with lines like “Don’t know what you see in my negativity, I know you know it’s one part you, three parts me” and “Show me your scars, show me your broken mirrors” reflecting that maybe something physical happened in said relationship. The song has an eerie and slow sound, reminiscent of early songs in his catalog such as “Wrapped in Plastic” off his debut album Portrait of an American Family, and “Sweet Tooth”, also from the debut.

Lyrics

give me your blood, your teeth
     your highschool pictures
     your words can't begin to
     satisfy my needs

give me your hand I'll never give
     you flowers
     your touch can't begin to
     satisfy my

I can't save you from me this time
you can't save you nothing comes
     between you and I

     Don't know what you see
     in my negativity
I know, you know it's one part
     you and three parts me

     show me your scars
     show me your broken mirrors
     your dreams can't begin to
     satisfy my

I can't save you from me this time
you can't hide from, hide what's
     inside, in your mind...

Always has and always will be,
     three parts me
