Korn in 2009

Korn was formed in 1993 by Brian Welch, James Shaffer, Reginald Arvizu, and David Silveria. Former band-member Welch stated that their signature sound came from an attempt to emulate Mr. Bungle's guitar tone, which they referred to as "the Bungle chord".
