Playing in a band and going to photography school in Phoenix, the direction of Joseph Cultice's life changed, a few pals from his neighborhood asking if he would shoot photos for a record. They were the Meat Puppets.[1]

"I said, 'Sure, I'll do it. Give me some money to do it. Just don't tell anybody I shot it,'" Cultice recalled in a 2010 interview. "That was the first band photo I did, was of those guys. I remember thinking, I could do this for a living. I liked being in bands, I liked performing, but I didn't like the fame part of it at all. It was irritating to me. Because people treat you differently."

Since then, Cultice has become a renowned photographer of such acts as Marilyn Manson, Ozzy Osborne, Korn, Glenn Danzig [2], Trent Reznor [3], Garbage, and more. Don't peg this photographer into any rock and roll rabbit hole, however. He may have done more famous Marilyn Manson shots fans know of, but he is just as liable to photograph Kid Rock, Beyonce, The B-52s, Tyra Banks, and Bjork, and more.
