Guns, God and Government was the eighth tour Marilyn Manson embarked on, under management of major record label Interscope Records. It was also the band's fourth tour to span over multiple legs. The band was on the tour from October 27, 2000 until September 2, 2001.

For the intro, Manson was carried onstage on a Roman-like Chariot by two naked girls that bore Roman helmets. Heavy use of fireworks was still used and Manson's outfit resembled the one seen in the music video for Disposable Teens.
Manson would wear a Pope outfit for The Love Song, and for Valentine's Day a more intricate design would be showcased: a table with two severed heads and grapes.
