Groupie is an independent film by Marilyn Manson that remains unreleased to this day due to its shocking and possibly illegal content.

For years Manson had mentioned in passing that he created a film so shocking that it could never be released, but gave no real details. This silence was somewhat broken in 2002 when Manson appeared on the television program "Dinner for Five". When the subject of independent films came up, he and fellow guest Andy Dick began discussing the film. In the interview Manson and Andy Dick (who has seen the film) reveal details of "Groupie"'s plot. Manson also mentions that he intended to have it released on his home video (most likely "Dead to the World") but was told by Tony Ciulla to never let it see the light of day because it would land him in jail and end his career. While the complete film has never been released, a scene did make it onto the "Dead to the World" VHS and can be seen at the end just before the credits begin to roll.

As is implied by Manson and Dick's commentary, and seen in the clip from "Dead to the World" the film seems to be shot from a first hand point of view with Manson (or other party guests) holding the hand held camera and following the action as it happened. Manson compares it to the style of "The Blair Witch Project" but claims to have not seen the movie at the time and did not take inspiration for the style of filming from the aforementioned movie.

It can be assumed that since band members Twiggy Ramirez and Madonna Wayne Gacy appear in the film, then it is likely that fellow band members Ginger Fish, Zim Zum and Daisy Berkowitz may have attended the party and an made an appearance.

Plot

Though complete details have not been revealed, the basic plot is as follows:

Manson held an actual party at his house where he informed his guests that a girl would be arriving soon and something would happen and he would film it. Some time before the girl arrives, Manson is apparently seen fellatio on Twiggy Ramirez.

Later, young goth girl arrives at the door claiming to be a big fan of Marilyn Manson and presented him with a gift. Manson invites the girl into his house and slowly asserts dominance over her and forces her to do various things for his please. The first such act is convincing her to drink Madonna Wayne Gacy's urine.

After this she is put through a series of horrible acts as the party guests look on, unsure if this is only an act or if this was honestly occuring. At one point a gun in introduced and someone (presumably the girl) bleeds. In one scene, the girl is seen sitting in a chair crying and screaming as Manson is heard, off-camera, taunting her and (presumably) harming her. Manson then forces her to recite the phrase "Jesus loves me because the bible tells me so".

The film ends with the girl tied up and crying.

Quotes

The following are remarks made by Marilyn Manson and Andy Dick while describing "Groupie" during an episode of "Dinner for Five".

Manson: I made this movie that I had intentions to put on my home video not thinking that it
would offend...it was at a [real] party at my house...I said "A girl is gonna show up and
somethings probably gonna go wrong, so just roll with it"
Dick: ...[Manson] sucked Twiggy's cock...but he put a rubber on it.
Manson: It was flaccid...
Dick: So they're having fun, sucking each other's cocks and *ding-dong*, who's at the door? Its
a fan. She says "I just know that you lived here, and I made this piece of art for you.
Will you take it?" and [Manson is] like "Sure, why don't you come in?"...She's must have
        been 18, literally.
Manson: Less...more...well, she was portraying a youngster. You're making this seem like a
        pornographic film.
Dick: No it wasn't. People were having fun...It was a party...it honestly looked like someone
left the camera on cuz at times it looked like you just set it there.
Dick: This girl show's up and he lures her in and she's excited to be there, she's like "I'm
such a big fan, I'm really excited, then slowly...over time...he starts to get her to do
certain things and those are the things that maybe we shouldn't discuss...
Manson: It gets really scary because not everyone in the room knew...if it was a joke or not.
Dick: He tries to get her to drink Pogo's urine. He pees in the wine glass and she's like "you
do it" and he drinks it and then she finally does.
Manson: Then I introduce a gun into the situation and it becomes really scary...
Dick: I was disturbed...people started bleeding at some point and not good things are happening.
Manson: A fight breaks out
Dick: That girl is tied up at the end and crying.
Manson: When I showed it to my manager he said "Please hide the masters. If anyone sees this
you'll go to jail and your career will be over. It was called "Groupie".
