Bradley Mark Stewart was born in Hollywood, Florida. He was born to a Catholic school teacher mother and police officer father. As his biological mother and father began to separate, Bradley's early childhood character was molded through a host of 1970s kid shows, AM-radio, and drive-in movies, while learning to play guitar through a Catholic priest.
In the mid 80s he would meet a young Brian Warner and Scott Putesky and together the trio would go on to create Marilyn Manson & The Spooky Kids. As they became closer friends, Bradley and Brian's personalities expressed themselves through the characters of Gidget Gein and Marilyn Manson and formed the basis of the band's ideals and style. The band gained a cult following in the south Florida music scene and eventually gained the attention of a newly successful Trent Reznor.

The band signed a record deal and began writing and recording their first studio album Portrait of an American Family, for which he wrote 7 songs and played all bass. Despite this, Gein was fired from the band after a heroin overdose that landed him in the hospital in December of 1993. Gein would be replaced by Jeordie White, now known as Twiggy Ramirez, of Miami death metal band Amboog-a-Lard who's look was influenced by a combination of, his then-girlfriend, Jessicka and Gein himself. Gein would later appear in the unauthorized documentary, Demystifying the Devil in which he set the record straight about his departure from the band.
As his own art and ideas began to gather, Gein moved to New York in 1996 and formed Gidget Gein and the Dali Gaggers. In 1998 they completed their first album, Just AdNausem, which was given a limited release of 1000 copies. In 2000 this album would get a wider release after being remastered and retitled as "Confessions of a Spooky Kid", though by this time the group disbanded.
Taking a break from the music scene, Gein returned to Florida and worked for the south Florida medical examiner retrieving and cleaning up after the deceased. Through these experiences Gein gathered ideas for more and more art and eventually found a place in the freshly announced UNPOP art movement.
Leaving Florida behind in 2004 and taking his collection with him, Gein began to execute art and fashion shows in Hollywood, California under the organised name GOLLYWOOD. During this time he joined the band People and also record new solo material.
Also around this time Gein appeared to have made amends with Marilyn Manson when he made a cameo appearance in the music video for (s)AINT as a crossdresser. Gein's sculpture, "In Case of Emergency Break Heart" was also featured in the video.
On October 9, 2008, Gidget Gein was found dead, at 39 years old, from a heroin overdose in his Burbank home.
