Dead God is an EP by Tim Skold for his solo project Skold, which has leaked throughout a span of many years. It is actually a collection of songs that were to be used for his second solo album as well as video games and other miscellaneous projects.

Background

Skold began writing and recording new songs ever since the breakup of KMFDM in 1999. The main bulk of these recordings came in between the time of MDFMK and the newly reformed KMFDM in 2002. When Skold joined Marilyn Manson in 2002, the project was abandoned altogether and shelved.

These songs have never been officially released, but the demo tapes were rumored to have been stolen off of Skold's tour bus in 2002. This resulted in six songs entering file sharing programs. As of today there are four more songs that still remain unreleased from the Dead God recording sessions: "Consequence", "Don't Ask", "If", and "Too Weird". Tim Skold said in an interview that the album was to be called Disrupting the Orderly Routine of the Institution, but the songs have since been referred to by fans as the Dead God EP.

Official release

20 years after the leak, Skold finally released the album officially. Contrary to the original title Disrupting the Orderly Routine of the Institution, the album was simply titled Dead God. It was officially released on April 15th, 2022.
