A total of 33 people were arrested in Cedar Rapids, Iowa on Wednesday after a Marilyn Manson concert was cut short when Manson himself walked off stage.

The shock rocker took flight three-quarters through the set after noticing that a large yellow smiley face was placed in front of the group's logo, which is positioned on a prop pulpit used during the song "Antichrist Superstar."

Following his departure, 23 people were arrested outside of the Five Seasons Center on such charges as assaulting an officer, interfering with police, disorderly conduct, trespassing, and failure to disperse. Ten other people were arrested inside the arena for public intoxication, possession of a controlled substance, or disorderly conduct.

Sgt. Mark Andries says that while the arrests made inside the venue were only slightly higher than the average, the majority of the arrests were made outside after concertgoers became upset with the shortened show. One group of dissatisfied fans was arrested while rocking the band's tour bus. No injuries have been reported.

The incident occurred on the final night of Manson's North American tour, which was cut short by six dates in light of the Columbine High School shooting (see "Marilyn Manson Postpones U.S. Tour Dates"). Five of those dates are expected to be rescheduled.

A spokesperson for Marilyn Manson had no comment on the Iowa incident at press time.
