(It's funny because I saw the Larry Flynt movie the other day and my friend, Edward Norton-Courtney's boyfriend-played a composite of Paul and several other lawyers who worked on the ''Hustler'' case.) Despite the fact that the story was on the news every five minutes, I'm not sure the crowd knew or even cared there was a case. We smashed everything, including ourselves, out of frustration at their apathy. I ended up slashing myself pretty badly, and paramedics won't stitch you on the spot for insurance reasons. They wanted me to go to the hospital, but I stayed backstage and got drunk with Pantera. We talked about the first time I hung out with Dimebag Darrell, who in addition to playing guitar in Pantera is actually the creator of [[Tony Wiggins]]. He took [[Twiggy]], [[Madonna Wayne Gacy|Pogo]] and me back to his house in Dallas. The 1997/06/15 East Rutherford, NJ performance took place on June 15th, 1997 at Giants Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, USA. It is the second show of the Ozzfest leg of the Dead to the World tour.
Controversy
A month before the engagement, the show attracted media attention when managers of the state-owned New Jersey Meadowlands tried to prevent Marilyn Manson from performing at the venue by refusing to sell tickets as long as he remains on the roster. They also complained about supposed issues such as crowd control problems at a Marilyn Manson concert and "community standards of decency". Ozzy Osbourne successfully took legal action against the venue, prompting the judge to lecture the defendants on the First Amendment. Marilyn Manson performed without incident.[1]
