The band's first live performance, at Churchill's Hideway in Miami on April 28th, 1990, is described in [[Marilyn Manson|Manson]]'s autobiography ''[[The Long Hard Road out of Hell]]''. The band were supporting The Goods,<ref name="DTD">''[[Demystifying the Devil]]''. Ventura Distribution. [[Gidget Gein]]. October 17, 2000.</ref> and opened up with what Manson described as his favorite poem, "[[The Telephone]]". 20 people attended the performance. After the show, which Manson has described as the band's "first real performance,"  bassist [[Brian Tutunick|Olivia Newton Bundy]] and keyboardist [[Perry Pandrea|Zsa Zsa Speck]] were dropped from the band's lineup. They were replaced by the next performance by [[Gidget Gein]], guitarist of local band Insanity Assassin, and [[Stephen Bier|Madonna Wayne Gacy]] who hadn't yet attained a keyboard so instead played with toy soldiers onstage in the meantime, and respectively.
